I said go away,
I cannot play,
But my cat said no.

I don’t have time,
silly feline,
but my cat said no.

I beg, please leave
grant me a reprieve,
but my cat said no.

You must depart,
spare my heart,
but my cat said no.

I’ll swat at you
with my shoe,
but my cat said no.

Oh, pray, why?
You make me cry!
But my cat said no.

I give in
and scratch her chin.
Oh, now she turns to go!

She sashays out
as I shout,
and leaves me full of woe.

Imagine that.
Fickle cat.
Why do I love her so?
