True! Management will use us up without a second thought. I had a boss who, during an office meeting, blurted out an idea he had on how to increase our output. He wanted to give us a second laptop to use during times our original laptop was busy processing data updates. He said this could double our output. He was doing this himself. Everyone sat there stunned. I just laughed and asked if he was going to double our salaries. He said no, and suggested we should want to do more during our 40 hours a week. I told him I didn’t work for free and doubling my workload with no salary increase was not something I was willing to do. After he left, my coworkers thanked me for speaking up and said they had felt the same way as me, but none of them spoke up. The boss dropped the idea, thankfully.
